Job Description: The Term-Limited Temporary Special Duty Commissioner presides over adult criminal calendars as well as the civil anti-harassment calendar. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Efficiently and effectively reviewing motions to vacate or resentence cases affected by the Supreme Court’s recent State v. Blake, 197 Wash.2d 170 (2021) decision

Efficiently and effectively presiding over the Criminal Plea and Sentencing Calendar under Superior Court Criminal Rules CrR 4.2 Pleas and CrR 7.2 Sentencing.

Efficiently and effectively preside over the Anti-harassment Calendar, which includes the following hearing types:  

• Anti-harassment hearings under RCW 10.14
• Stalking under RCW 7.92
• Sexual Assault Protection under RCW 7.90
• Extreme Risk Protection under RCW 7.94
• Vulnerable Adult Protection under RCW 74.34
Surrender of Firearms under RCW 9.41.800

Other matters as assigned by the Presiding Judge.
