Job Description: Judge J. Michael (“Mike”) Díaz of the Washington Court of Appeals, Division One, is seeking to hire a law clerk, for a short term assignment, starting approximately May 15, 2023. The term will end on August 15, 2023. This announcement will remain open until filled, with priority given to applications received by March 31, 2023. Interviews will be conducted, if possible, between April 3 and 5, 2023, with a hiring offer to be made later that week.

The Court of Appeals handles appeals from Washington courts of general jurisdiction in all areas of law, including criminal, civil, and domestic matters. Judge Díaz seeks applicants with varied personal and professional backgrounds, who are interested in rigorous legal research and precise legal writing, in a collaborative and collegial environment. Candidates must be law school graduates or have completed the APR 6 law clerk program (or equivalent). Practicing attorneys are encouraged to apply.
