Job Description: The Special Assault Unit of the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking experienced trial prosecutors to join our team. Job Duties
Special Assault Unit (SAU) prosecutors work with legal service professionals, law enforcement, the Children’s Justice Center of King County, external victim advocates, and other community partners on these complex and sensitive cases with a victim centered approach. Core duties include trying adult and child sex offenses as well as felony child physical abuse cases, pre-trial case preparation and management through trial and post-conviction hearings.

SAU trial deputies are based out of the King County Courthouse in Seattle or the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent and have the ability to telecommute when not in trial.

Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

Salary:
$116,013.24 - $158,683.20+ annually, commensurate with experience.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys and Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys enjoy King County’s robust benefits package. Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys (but not Seniors) are also union represented by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Association.
