Job Description: Pacifica was founded in 2011 and has grown to include 42 experienced attorneys who practice in the areas of litigation, appeals, public records, ethics, municipal finance, public-private partnerships, complex transactions, real estate, procurement, construction, school law and other areas of general municipal law for public and private sector clients. 

We are looking for a litigation associate to join our team. We are seeking someone who is committed to high quality and ethical lawyering and will contribute to the diversity and effectiveness of our firm, the legal profession, and our greater community. 

Responsibilities:

This is an excellent opportunity to join a sophisticated litigation practice and work in a dynamic, expanding, and team-oriented atmosphere while enjoying the benefits of a smaller law firm. This job requires the lawyer to assume substantial responsibility for the preparation of pleadings and briefs in trial courts, administrative proceedings, and appellate courts that reflect the highest caliber of legal scholarship and written advocacy. The successful candidate also will be involved in all aspects of discovery, and will have opportunities to appear in court and have direct client contact as their practice progresses. The successful candidate also will assist in researching issues and providing general counseling services to a variety of public, private, and non-profit clients. Requirements:  

· Strong academic credentials
· Excellent writing, research, and communication skills
· Familiarity with legal software search databases and computer proficiency
· Membership in the Washington State Bar Association
· Law journal participation and/or clerkship preferred
· Two to four years of general litigation experience preferred
