Job Description: Parents Representation Program Seeking Attorneys for Telephone Consultation Hotline

Subject to the availability of funds appropriated for this specific purpose, the Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) will contract with Washington State attorneys to provide legal consultation and advice to parents, guardians, and legal custodians when the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) proposes a voluntary placement agreement (VPA) and when there is no dependency proceeding pursuant to RCW 13.34 pending.

Applications must be submitted no later than October 27, 2023. To apply, email a letter of interest identifying your qualifications and a resume. Letters of interest should also describe applicant’s current contracts for public defense or other representation as well as existing caseload, specifying the number of your current dependency and termination cases, if any.
