Job Description: This year, Washington becomes one of the first states in the country to require that any youth contacted by law enforcement be put into contact with an attorney before waiving any constitutional right. The Washington State Office of Public Defense is seeking attorneys to be a part of this exciting effort and to become the inaugural group of counsel available to youth as they interface with law enforcement officers. This is a contract position that requires 24/7 availability during on-call weeks, but attorneys will also have weeks with no duties required.
