Job Description: Lake Washington School District is looking for qualified candidates for the Government Relations Liaison position. 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Government Relations Liaison will monitor legislative proposals and related matters as well as regularly interact with local, state, and federal legislative bodies and government agencies to represent and further the District’s interests. This position also serves as a liaison to school district administrators, keeping them apprised of legislative developments. This position reports to the Associate Superintendent of Business and Support Services.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Public Affairs/Relations, Political Science, Business Administration, Communications or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Two (2) years of professional experience in government relations, legislative analysis, communications or project management experience preferred.

Salary: Prof-Tech Level G – $89,537 - $93,191 per year, 261 days. This is an exempt position. Full benefit package included.

Background Check on Recommended Candidate: A reference check inquiry will also be made by Human Resources on recommended candidates. According to 1992 legislation ESHB 2518, all school employees with regularly scheduled unsupervised access to children are required to have a criminal background check, which includes fingerprints. 

COVID Vaccination Policy: All LWSD employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Failure to submit proof of vaccination or qualify for a reasonable accommodation will result in withdrawal of a job offer.
